Unicorn Coin Bank

Hey y’all, Stephanie Baker here! I’m a girls pattern designer at CKC, and today I’ve got a fun little FREE project for you all!!

Sparkly Diamond Horn Unicorn Coin Bank is a cute little bank made from any size mason jar. Perfect for Unicorn Week or any time at all!  Let's get started!

Here’s what you need:

Vinyl for Eyes

First, and this step is optional, but what unicorn fan doesn’t love some glitter!? So, take that mason jar outside and spray the inside of the jar with your glitter spray paint. Let it dry as recommended.

Next, take your acrylic paint the paint over the glitter paint on the inside of the jar. Again, let the paint dry as recommend.

While it’s drying, take your 2 mm thick felt sheet and the metal mason jar top. Using the top as a template trace a circle onto the felt.

Then, draw yourself a 1” x 1/4” rectangle inside your circle. Not too close to the edge of the circle. I offset mine but you can center it if you’d like. Now cut out the circle and then rectangle.

Place the felt circle on top of the jar, then screw on the metal lid rim only to hold the felt in place.

Set that aside, and grab the pattern pieces. Cut out 2 ears from the glitter felt, and 1 horn from the glitter canvas. Using the hot glue gun, glue the horn to the outer rim of the lid. Then, hot glue the ears to the rim, overlapping about ¼ of the ear over the horn.

If you are using the eye cut file, go ahead and cut those out. Apply eyes to jar. I cut mine at 3 ½” wide. We are DONE now!! This fun little coin bank is ready for a coin collection!

Stay tuned for another Unicorn Week project tomorrow!
